Population of Kayseri

Hi
I am from Kayseri, the Population of the town Kayseri is never 800.000. Kayseri has now approximately 500.000 People or a liddle bit more. With an agglomeration in a 25 miles radius maybe Kayseri can have maximum 600.000 People . Do not confuse with the province Kayseri, which has now 1.060.000 People. In Turkey everybody can see at the town-border, on a blue traffic-board the number of the Population(tr. Nüfus) and of the sea-level(tr. Rakιm). Maybee some tourist have sean for example: Bodrum; Nüfus(Population):25.000, Rakιm(sea-level) 30m. For the official statistic look at: www.world-gazetteer.com . -- Adilhan 18:42, 17 July 2006 (UTC)

Sibel Kekili

I have noticed that Sibel Kekilli is frequently placed on and then removed from list of notables. Her own article states that she was born in Germany. Is she in any meaningful way a native of Kayseri. Does anyone have a source to confirm this? I am removing her as unsourced until this is resolved. Aramgar (talk) 17:13, 12 December 2008 (UTC)

Some data refers to the province, not to the city

I think that is the case of the districts and the population, maybe there is more. --Stegop (talk) 21:40, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Not having read this comment and 1 above, but having seen the possible ambiguities (agreed entirely) these have been put right.- Adam37 Talk 11:50, 2 January 2022 (UTC)

Proposed merge of Caesarea (Mazaca) into Kayseri

Kayseri already covers its ancient history and is not too large. There is little new information here. MB 14:06, 7 September 2021 (UTC)

WORK DONE! In the model of Cirencester and its classical predecessor one has found ample material. After your reservations were noted. One is reminded of Crooked Billet, London which hilariously in my view has its very own article. This certainly merits its own a fortiori.- Adam37 Talk 11:47, 2 January 2022 (UTC)

Closing, given the uncontested objection and no support. Klbrain (talk) 22:25, 12 March 2022 (UTC)

Kayseri

This is not much of a page for what is actually a pretty important city. As usual, there is confusion between Kayseri the city and Kayseri the province, and when I looked at the Province page it is even weaker, repeating info on Kayseri the city and adding very little more. I will try and reassign the relevant info to the two separate pages. What i can't do as don't know how to is add at top of Kayseri (city) page a note saying 'For the province of Kayseri see..."

Particularly omitted is all the info on the Seljuk monuments of Kayseri (city).

Will look at Caesarea Mazaca tmrw since that almost certainly should just be part of the (very brief) history section for Kayseri (city). The Modern era section is especially weak although not sure I have the info to make it better. Ealinggirl1954 (talk) 20:41, 21 December 2022 (UTC)
