WikiProject Japan covers any Japan-related article on Wikipedia. Since this is an award given in Japan by a Japanese company, it seems to fit quite nicely. (^_^) Being associated with the project means that help is just a click away as there are always people willing to help out with most any project. Keep in mind that the project isn't even one month old yet, so we don't have a ton of people helping out. You're definitely welcome to join us, especially since you are making articles that aren't really covered yet by others in the project. You'd fit into the project quite nicely. Before anybody changes this to "Nobuo Ina Award" (to fit WP's daft policy about Japanese personal names), note that Nikon's own book on the subject is clearly titled Ina Nobuo Award (I mean, in roman letters). -- Hoary 09:05, 27 March 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I saw your earlier note, though I too forget where it was.

I know full well that there is no policy directly mandating that Japanese personal names within other names should be in the reversed order. However, I can easily imagine that somebody will note that Ihei Kimura has his own article (which incidentally I start to think should be "Ihee Kimura", since the latter is what he used) and that there's a blazing inconsistency between that and Kimura Ihei Award. Not surprisingly, Nobuo Ina doesn't yet have an article; when he gets one, somebody may want the name of this article screwed up too.

I like the clarification idea. Till you added it, I hadn't known of that page, let alone of the template pointing to it. The problem is that the help page itself seemed a bit confused (with the statement that the Japanese /r/ resembled the Spanish /r/, etc.). Just now I've tried to unconfuse it. (Unfortunately, this seemed to require quite a bit of talk.) I'll hang on a bit and see if it's, uh, reconfused; if it isn't, I'll certainly add this template to other pages. -- Hoary 01:34, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
