I removed the following: "Moses Alexander was elected mayor of Chillicothe in 1827, being the first Jew in the state to hold office." Alexander was mayor of Chillicothe, Missouri, (not Ohio) in the 1880s. --Faustus37 17:43, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

What is the name of the congregation in Ironton?

What is the name of the congregation in Ironton? I'm not sure one exists. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.103.34.191 (talk) 03:56, 14 February 2007 (UTC).

This article needs serious work

Clearly, this article began as little more than a crib of the 1902 Jewish Yearbook, to which accretions were added that rendered it almost meaningless as a source for the history of Jews in Ohio. Someone will need to spend considerable time crafting a more comprehensive essay that will not only provide a more helpful historical summary, but will also provide authors with appropriate locations in which to add details relevant to the various communities in the state. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.47.167.219 (talk) 20:55, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

Rabbi Jackson left to give his services to a separate congregation in Arizona. As of late 2023 and 2024 the shul no longer has a rabbi, and has a programme in which different volunteer rabbis lead the services and are switched out every so often. 2603:6010:F200:4449:18E2:FC7E:B902:ED07 (talk) 21:30, 15 January 2024 (UTC)
