Sandal Station

I've been trying to find reference to Sandal Station being on this particular line, indeed being a different station to the original Sandal station (now Sandal & Agbrigg). The usual books don't reference it at all and I'm struggling to see whereabouts geographically it could have been, since the Hallam Line doesn't go anywhere near Sandal (Magna). Is it worth removing this as unverifiable? Capnb (talk) 22:43, 23 March 2012 (UTC)

Wrong station on the wrong line!

Hi! The station that the original author of this article was referring to, is Sandal and Walton railway station which became Walton before it closed. The name 'Sandal' only referred to the (current) Sandal and Agbrigg railway station which is on the Wakefield Line. The problem which you have faced when conducting research is that the former Sandal and Walton railway station was never on the Hallam Line and has been included in the article entirely in error. This station was on the North Midland Railway line which linked Derby with Leeds before the section between Normanton and Oakenshaw was removed (see Goose Hill junction after Normanton railway station and Oakenshaw railway station for further details). I have removed all references to 'Sandal' due to be incorrect. Hope this clarifies things! BNC85 (talk) 12:57, 19 July 2013 (UTC)
