Should everyone be allowed to mess up someone else’s Wikipedia profile with no obligation to report on their actions?

I am herewith voicing my concern that Wikipedia, even if a marvellous idea, is actually becoming a field for uncontrolled (and uncontrollable) arbitrariness - sometimes, even malicious arbitrariness. I’ve seen so many pages having literally been massacred with uni formed interventions by people who simply do not wish to do their proper research before taking on the responsibility of becoming someone else’s life’s and achievement’s editor! It’s easy to remove references, it’s harder to investigate and improve them. Setting this Wikipedia page as an example, which I’ve seen being messed about since over a decade now and is currently looking a little short of “raped”, I’m raising a serious concern that there should be, at the end of the line, a serious, educated and duly authorised regulator for every Wikipedia page.
