- Hello, I would suggest adding onto the "Invasive Species Effect on Fire Regime" section: Certain invasive species can also be effectively controlled under certain fire regimes. Simulation models have found that disturbance-based management can control native invasive species when the cause is due to a shifted disturbance in the fire regime. Further research should be done to examine how restoring historic fire regimes can influence non-native invasive species as well.[1] Standard-fare (talk) 23:59, 26 October 2017 (UTC)
- Hey everyone, I added a section "Effects from altered fire regimes," which is about the problems that arise when a regime changes. I managed to find and add some information about what happens when fire intervals decrease, but I think it would be beneficial if we could find any more effects from other aspects of fire regime changes. I also fixed the link for California chaparral source, which was broken. Furthermore, I replaced the werc.usgs.gov source. The link was broken, so I searched on the site and I believe to have found a source close to the original: an article published in Science, 284. I also added more information to "United States" from this original source, and hyperlinked some words to their respective wikipedia articles. Thanks! Bailey.t (talk) 02:35, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
- I removed the bushfire management paragraph. It did not have any sources. I also felt that it either needed to be moved to a different place or topic or needed to be rewritten to relate better to fire regime. Bailey.t (talk) 06:25, 15 September 2016 (UTC)
- Hi I am adding information on how we characterize fire regimes and their basic components. I will also be deleting the section on California because it was disproven that fire suppression causes larger less frequent bonfires[2] --Melmacd94 (talk) 15:14, 7 November 2016 (UTC)
This was a great start on the complex subject of fire regimes. Pointing out that an unnatural response to natural systems is critical to convey and the author did a good job nailing that point. I particularly appreciate the way the subject is subdivided into effects, examples, and how invasive species affect a natural regime. All the sections can be expanded, but I feel it best to contribute by expanding on examples of regime studies, as examples are often good vehicles for describing the different processes behind them. I'm wondering if that picture can serve to explain anything related fire regime. Anybody cares to help enlighten me? Thanks. ThomasYehYeh (talk) 00:43, 29 August 2023 (UTC)
