I've rearrange chunks of the text and added section headings to get the article under control. But the article still needs more work; particularly:
- the "Habits and Habitat" section is a mess
- the "Range" section is _ridiculously_ UK-specific for a duck with such a wide, mostly Asian range; this needs a complete rewrite
- the writing generally is not great (an artifact of its piece-by-piece writing history)
Anyway, I'm off to update my Life List...ArzelaAscoli 21:35, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, I forgot to add: pictures of the female and eclipse plumages might be nice - I don't know what the standard is for birds though. ArzelaAscoli 21:36, 8 September 2007 (UTC)
I think there is a small mistake in the trabular data. Anatinae is not a family of birds, but a subfamily. The correct name of the family is Anatidae.Harlekin96 (talk) 08:12, 1 April 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Harlekin96 (talk • contribs) 08:09, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

I'd suggest using this painting which is more demonstrative than some photos. Also, there is no mention of teal (color). 62.147.58.187 (talk) 20:14, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Done: I have replaced the picture at right with the one at left (much better for a paragraph describing the nuptial plumage) and mentioned the color in the lead. 62.147.25.129 (talk) 11:11, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
