Did Carl Foreman renounce communism? Being a communist in the 30s is one thing but post-wwii or if you like, post-Hungary 56, something else. Refusing HUAC was completely heroic. Was that followed by a cold assessment of Uncle Joe?

2nd paragraph - word missing?

"At the time, political ideology was being [????] by the rise of fascism abroad and domestically by the ruthless business tactics of capitalists such as John D. Rockefeller while at the same time the unemployed and working poor of the Great Depression were suffering terribly." -- there seems to be a word missing?? 203.161.100.182 14:01, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

CBE

Did he take British citizenship so that the CBE is substantive (and it is only one level below knighthood)or did he retain his American citizenship so that it is actually only honorary? If the latter this should be made plain.Bedwasboy (talk) 11:40, 8 October 2008 (UTC)
