Valves in facial, angular, supraorbital, supratrochlear, and ophthalmic veins
While it is commonly held that veins in the "Triangle of Death/Danger" do not have valves, this reference from the page Danger triangle of the face,
- Zhang J, Stringer MD (July 2010). "Ophthalmic and facial veins are not valveless". Clin. Experiment. Ophthalmol. 38 (5): 502–10. doi:10.1111/j.1442-9071.2010.02325.x. PMID 20491800.
indicates that these veins do generally have valves, and appears to provide other reasons for why this is a dangerous region of the face.
I suggest the article be edited to remove the statement about these veins not having valves. Smedley7 (talk) 07:56, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
- Hi Smedley7! Whilst WP:MEDMOS generally prefers secondary sources to primary sources, this particular study is directly relevant to the article. I have put Template:Citation needed by all valve claims in the article - if you want to include the study, I would suggest removing the current mentions of the lack of valves (as the study has nothing to say on valves in the angular vein). Thanks! Bibeyjj (talk) 12:47, 30 November 2021 (UTC)
