Timeline at La Haye Sainte?
If you look at the article about the stand of the Light Infantry of the KGL at LHS you'll find that the failure to get reinforcements and supplies to them was described as happening LONG before they were forced to abandon the position as ammunition had run out. THIS article claims the retreat preceded the fatal orders leading to the fifth line batallion (the replacements/reinforcements) to be destroyed with little survivors... so which is it? Does the fifth get smashed before the Light infantry has to give up the fortified position or is the retreat leading to the fifth being sent out and destroyed? Only one of these records can be accurate! --5.146.47.75 (talk) 09:53, 19 May 2017 (UTC)
