03:4803:48, 2 February 2024diffhist−49 mSexing deleted the proposal to merge with "determination of sex". Sexing is a term used by veterinaries and agricultural professionals. It is distinct in use and meaning from determination of sex. No reason was given for merging the two nor is there rational arguments made on the talk page. If there is a reasonable argument for the merger, please address it in the talk page prior to posting a proposed merger again.
12:3112:31, 11 January 2024diffhist+6 Sexing The correct scientific term for sexing a human is "determination of sex" not sex assignment. Sex assignment didn't even come into existence as a word until the 1970s welll after scientists were determining the sex of humans. See google ngram viewer for proof of this claim.
12:1512:15, 11 January 2024diffhist−34 Determination of sex removed the proposed merger. Determination of sex is a broader term than sexing and it should not be limited to sexing. Please see the talk page and add a reasonable comment as to why these should be merged before undoing this edit. Preferably a scientist knowledgable in these two terms should be proposing such an edit. As you can see from my contrigutions I am a scientist and I make scientific contributions all the time.

It is distinct from sex assignment which came into popularity since the 1950s. From a scientific point of view it is important to remember and distinguish the different types understanding.
