Sandy Newbigging

Alexander Newbigging (12 September 1876 – 1976) was a Scottish footballer who played in the Football League for Nottingham Forest,[2][7][1] in the Southern Football League for Queens Park Rangers,[6] Reading[8] (two one-season spells) and Coventry City,[9] and in the Scottish Football League for Abercorn[5] and Rangers.[4][10] Usually a goalkeeper, he is also recorded as having played outfield as a forward.[1][6][a]

His elder brother Willie[11] and younger brother Harry[14][15] were also footballers. He lived to the age of 99, and in 1973 was one of the guests of honour for Rangers' centenary events at Ibrox Park.[4]
