Samuel Aldegheri (born September 19, 2001) is an Italian professional baseball pitcher in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

Aldegheri played for the Parma Clima of the Italian Baseball League in 2019 and 2020. In July 2019, he signed with the Philadelphia Phillies as an international free agent.[1] He made his professional debut in 2021 with the Rookie-level Florida Complex League Phillies before being promoted to the Low-A Clearwater Threshers. He was placed on the injured list with a left elbow injury on August 20 and missed the remainder of the season and a portion of the following season, which he spent exclusively in the Florida Complex League.[2]

Aldegheri returned to Clearwater for the start of the 2023 season before being promoted to the High-A Jersey Shore BlueClaws on August 3.[2] After the 2023 season ended, his control was ranked the best in the Phillies farm system by Baseball America.[2] Aldegheri returned to Jersey Shore for the start of the 2024 season.[3]

Andrew Fleming Baker (born March 24, 2000) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

Baker began his college baseball career at Chipola College. As a freshman, he made 26 appearances and finished the season with a 2–1 record with seven saves and a 5.04 ERA. Baker was also selected in the 16th round of the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers, but opted not to sign and instead transferred to Auburn.[4] As a sophomore at Auburn he had 9.53 earned run average in 5.2 innings pitched over six relief appearances before the season was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic. After the school year, Baker transferred back to Chipola College. He made 15 starts and went 7–2 with a 3.45 ERA and 92 strikeouts in 57+13 innings pitched.[5]

Baker was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 11th round of the 2021 Major League Baseball Draft.[6] After signing, he was assigned to the Rookie-level Florida Complex League Phillies, where he made two appearances before being promoted to the Low-A Clearwater Threshers. Baker began the 2022 season with the High-A Jersey Shore BlueClaws before being promoted to the Reading Fightin Phils of the Double-A Eastern League.[7]

Jesus Starlyn Caba (born December 6, 2005) is a Dominican professional baseball shortstop in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

Caba signed with the Philadelphia Phillies as an international free agent in January 2023.[8] He made his professional debut that season with the Dominican Summer League Phillies.[9]

Caba started 2024 with the Rookie-level Florida Complex League Phillies.[10]


Ruben Cardenas

Ruben Cardenas (born October 10, 1997) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

Cardenas attended Saugus High School in Santa Clarita, California before transferring to Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills, California as a junior.[11] He batted .400 as a sophomore and .412 as a junior.[12] He was selected by the Miami Marlins in the 37th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft, but did not sign.[13] He originally signed a letter of intent to play college baseball at the University of Nevada, Reno, but instead attended California State University, Fullerton.[14]

As a freshman at Cal State Fullerton in 2016, Cardenas appeared in 44 games, batting .233 with three home runs and 28 RBI, and played in only 16 games in 2017 due to a back injury.[15] In 2018, his junior year, he hit .292/.355/.432 with four home runs, 38 RBI, and 12 stolen bases over sixty games. Following the season's end, he was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the 16th round, with the 493rd overall selection, of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft.[16]

Cardenas signed with the Indians and made his professional debut with the Rookie-level Arizona League Indians before being assigned to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers of the Low–A New York–Penn League, batting .308 over 42 games with both clubs.[17] He began the 2019 season with the Lake County Captains of the Single–A Midwest League.[18]

On July 28, 2019, Cardenas and international signing period slot money were traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for Christian Arroyo and Hunter Wood.[19] He was the assigned to the Bowling Green Hot Rods of the Single–A Midwest League. Over 114 games between Lake County and Bowling Green, he slashed .271/.338/.450 with 13 home runs and 70 RBI.[20] He returned to Bowling Green, now members of the High-A East, to begin the 2021 season before he was promoted to the Montgomery Biscuits of the Double-A South in mid-June.[21] He was named the Double-A South Player of the Month for July after batting .340 with eight home runs and 22 RBI with 11 multi-hit games.[22] Over 105 games for the 2021 season between Bowling Green and Montgomery, Cardenas slashed .292/.333/.523 with 25 home runs and 78 RBI.[23] He was assigned to the Durham Bulls of the Triple-A International League for the 2022 season.[24] Over 82 games with Durham, he batted .208 with 16 home runs and 41 RBI.[25] For the 2023 season, he returned to Durham.[26] Over 132 games, Cardenas hit .269 with 22 home runs and 82 RBI.[27]

Cardenas began the 2024 season back with Durham, hitting .281/.346/.530 with 11 home runs and 28 RBI across 49 appearances.

On June 6, 2024, Cardenas was traded to the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for cash considerations.[28]

Carlos De La Cruz (born October 6, 1999) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

De La Cruz was originally discovered by the Phillies scouting department in 2017 at the age of 17 playing for an amateur travel team in New York.[29] He would sign with the Phillies on August 23, 2017 for a bonus of $50,000 as an undrafted free agent before participating in the Florida Instructional League later in the year.[29]

De La Cruz made his professional debut in 2018 with the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League Phillies East of the Gulf Coast League. He finished the season with a .284 average and six home runs in 43 games. De La Cruz was promoted to the Lakewood BlueClaws of the Single–A South Atlantic League for the 2019 season.[30] He finished the season with a .220 average and seven home runs in 117 games.[30] De La Cruz did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the Minor League Baseball season because of the COVID-19 pandemic. De La Cruz shuttled between the FCL Phillies, Jersey Shore BlueClaws, and Clearwater Threshers, playing in 63 total games and hitting .181.[30] De La Cruz started the 2022 season at Jersey Shore. After slashing .266/.344/.463 over 64 games, he was promoted to the Reading Fightin Phils of the Double-A Eastern League.[31] In 38 contests with Reading, De La Cruz hit .278 and finished the season with 17 home runs.[30] After the 2022 season, he played in the Arizona Fall League.[32] He was also named a MiLB.com Organization All-Star.[33] De La Cruz returned to Reading for the 2023 season, finishing with a .259 average and 24 home runs in 129 contests. He was also named an Eastern League Post-Season All-Star.[34] Following the season, De La Cruz played for the Gigantes del Cibao of the Dominican Winter League.[35] He would return to Reading for the start of the 2024 season.

George Edward Klassen (born January 26, 2002) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

Klassen Port Washington High School in Port Washington, Wisconsin and played college baseball at the University of Minnesota.[36] He missed his freshman year at Minnesota in 2021 after undergoing Tommy John Surgery.[37]

Klassen was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the sixth round of the 2023 Major League Baseball Draft.[38] He made his professional debut in 2024 with the Single-A Clearwater Threshers. On June 11, Klassen was promoted to the High-A Jersey Shore Blue Claws.[39]


Matt Kroon

Matthew James Kroon (born December 5, 1996) is an American baseball infielder in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

The son of MLB player Marc Kroon, Matt grew up in Scottsdale, Arizona, and attended Horizon High School.[40][41] He received two all-state selections there and batted .412 as a senior; Kroon was selected in the 38th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball draft by the Cincinnati Reds.[40][42] Rather than sign with the Reds, Kroon played college baseball with the Oregon Ducks, batting .184 in 35 games with the team in his first year.[43] He transferred to Central Arizona College as a sophomore and posted 20 runs batted in (RBIs) and two home runs while batting .266 in 46 games for the school.[43]

Kroon was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 30th round of the 2017 Major League Baseball draft, but remained in school, transferring a second time to the Oklahoma State Cowboys.[43] He played 57 games with the Cowboys and batted .300 with 11 home runs and 39 RBIs.[44]

Kroon was chosen in the 18th round of the 2018 Major League Baseball draft by the Phillies.[45] He played two years at the Rookie league and Class A levels, with the 2020 season being canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, before being promoted to the Double-A Reading Fightin Phils in 2021.[46] He batted .301 and had five home runs along with 22 RBIs with the Fightin Phils in 2021, but tore his ACL early on in the 2022 season, resulting in him missing all but two games.[47] He returned in 2023 and played with teams at the High-A, Double-A and Triple-A levels, batting a combined .326, which included 11 home runs and 58 RBIs.[48] He began the 2024 season with the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs.[26]

Max Lazar

Max Brandon Lazar (born June 3, 1999) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

Lazar played baseball in high school at Coral Springs High School in Coral Springs, Florida.[2] He was selected in 11th round by the Milwaukee Brewers in 2017 Major League Baseball draft.[2] Lazar made his professional debut for the Rookie-level Arizona League Brewers that year.[49] He would spend the 2018 season with the Helena Brewers of the Pioneer League, before being promoted to the Low-A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers for the start of the 2019 season.[49] Lazar sent most of the season with the Timber Rattlers, largely pitching in tandem with Reese Olson in the early part of the season[49] before a brief stint with the rookie level in June back with the AZL Brewers Gold.[2] He would finish the season with a 2.39 ERA over 19 appearances (10 starts) at the Low-A level.[2] Lazar was named a Low Class A All-Star by Baseball America following the season.[2]

Lazar did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the Minor League Baseball season because of the COVID-19 pandemic, then missed the 2021 season due to recovery due to injury.[2] Returning to action in 2022, he started out the season with the Timber Rattlers, now at the High-A level.[2] Lazar was placed on the injured list on June 13 and spent the rest of the season under a rehab assignment with the ACL Brewers and Carolina Mudcats.[2] He spit the season starting and relieving, finishing with a 4.22 ERA in 11 appearances at Wisconsin.[2] After the season, Lazar played for the Brisbane Bandits of the Australian Baseball League. He returned to Wisconsin for the start of the 2023 season. Now exclusively a reliever, Lazar once again started out with Wisconsin in 2023, before being promoted to the Double-A Biloxi Shuckers on June 30.[2] Over the entire season, he finished with a 3.26 ERA across 33 outings between both levels.[50] Following the season, Lazar elected free agency.[50]

On December 8, 2023, Lazar signed a minor league contract with the Philadelphia Phillies organization.[51] He would start the season with the Double-A Reading Fightin Phils, where he would pitch to a 0.00 ERA over 8 outings before being promoted to the Triple-A Lehigh Valley IronPigs.[50]

Griff McGarry

Griffin Thomas McGarry (born June 8, 1999) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

McGarry grew up in Portola Valley, California and attended the Menlo School in Atherton, California.[52] He was selected in 31st round by the Texas Rangers in 2017 Major League Baseball draft, but opted not to sign with the team.[53]

McGarry played college baseball at Virginia. He posted an 8.15 ERA in 11 appearances as a freshman.[54] Following the season, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Keene Swamp Bats of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.[55] McGarry was named the Cavaliers' opening day starter going into his sophomore season and went 3–5 with a 4.56 ERA.[56] After the 2019 season he played for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks in the Cape Cod Baseball League.[57][58] As a junior, McGarry went 3–0 with a 1.35 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched before the season was cut short due to the coronavirus pandemic.[59] As a senior, he struggled with his control at the start of the season and lost his spot in Virginia's starting rotation.[60] He regained form in the second half of the season after striking out eight batters in 3.1 innings against Old Dominion and finished the season with an 0–5 record with a 5.44 ERA, 69 strikeouts and 42 walks in 43 innings pitched.[59][61] McGarry was selected by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 5th round of the 2021 Major League Baseball Draft.[62]

McGarry began his professional career with the Low-A Clearwater Threshers. He was promoted to the High-A Jersey Shore BlueClaws and finished the season with 1–0 record with one save and a 2.96 ERA and 43 strikeouts in 24+13 innings pitched.[63]

Mitch Neunborn

Mitchell Carl Neunborn (born June 27, 1997) is a South African professional baseball pitcher in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

Neunborn played collegiately at North Iowa Area Community College during the 2017 season, playing shortstop while also pitching occasionally.[64] In 47 games, he hit .331 with 13 home runs. Neunborn also posted a 3.18 ERA over 5.2 innings across three pitching appearances with the Trojans. The following summer, he played for the Medford Rogues, batting .291 with 9 runs in 29 games.[65] Neunborn also made two appearances on the mound, posting a 4.50 ERA in two innings.

He made his professional debut with the Perth Heat of the Australian Baseball League during the 2019-20 ABL season, mostly appearing as a pitcher for the Heat.[66] Neunborn pitched to a 1.86 ERA over 9.2 innings across four appearances. Neunborn signed with the Adelaide Giants for the 2019-20 ABL season, during which he'd capture the league's rookie of the year award while pitching to a 1.75 ERA over five starts of 25.2 total innings.[67] During the cancelled 2021-22 ABL season, he pitched for the West Torrens Eagles, pitching to a 0.19 ERA with the club en route to a championship. Returning to Adelaide for the 2022-23 ABL season, Neunborn was one of the league's best relief pitchers, registering a 2.25 ERA in 28 innings across 13 appearances. Following the season, Neunborn signed with the Québec Capitales of the Frontier League. He would also be named to the Australia national baseball team's roster for the 2023 World Baseball Classic the following month.[68]

On March 29, 2023, prior to the start of the 2023 Frontier League season, Neunborn's contract was purchased by the Philadelphia Phillies from the Capitales.[69] He spent the 2023 season with the High-A Jersey Shore Blue Claws, earning a pitcher of the week nod and later playing in the Arizona Fall League.[2] Neunborn would begin the 2024 season with the Double-A Reading Fightin Phils.

Gabriel Alejandro Rincones Jr. (born March 3, 2001) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

Rincones was born in Boynton Beach, Florida to Venezuelan parents and his family moved to Venezuela shortly after he was born. His family relocated to Scotland when he was six years old after his father was hired as an offshore safety advisor in the oil industry.[70] Rincones moved back to Venezuela at age 12 to play baseball and lived with an aunt before moving to live with another aunt in Tampa, Florida.[71]

Rincones played junior college baseball at St. Petersburg College. As a freshman, he batted .432 with 11 doubles, four home runs and 28 RBIs. Rincones was named the Florida State College Activities Association (FCSAA) Player of the Year after hitting for a .415 average with 19 doubles, six home runs, and 43 RBIs during his sophomore season. He also committed to transfer to Florida Atlantic University (FAU) for his remaining eligibility.[72] Rincones drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 19th round of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft, but opted not to sign with the team.[73] After the season, he played on the Great Britain national baseball team in the 2021 European Baseball Championship.[74] In his only season playing for the FAU Owls, Rincones batted .346 with 19 home runs and 69 RBIs and was named the Conference USA Newcomer of the Year.[75]

Rincones was selected in the third round of the 2022 Major League Baseball draft by the Philadelphia Phillies.[76] He would make his professional debut in 2023 for the Single-A Clearwater Threshers, before being promoted to the High-A Jersey Shore BlueClaws on June 12.[2]

Eduardo Ricardo Tait (born August 27, 2006) is an Panamanian professional baseball catcher in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

Tait signed with the Philadelphia Phillies as an international free agent on January 15, 2023.[2] He spent the 2023 season with the Dominican Summer League Phillies, earning Mid-Season All-Star honors and system hitter of the month honors for July.[2] Tait started the 2024 season with the Rookie-level Florida Complex League Phillies.

Jordan Lee Viars (born July 18, 2003) is an American baseball outfielder in the Philadelphia Phillies organization.

Viars grew up in Frisco, Texas and attended Reedy High School. As a senior, he batted .464 with eight home runs and 26 RBIs.[77] Viars had committed to play college baseball at Arkansas prior to signing with the Phillies.[78]

Viars was selected in the third round of the 2021 Major League Baseball draft by the Philadelphia Phillies.[79] After signing with the team he was assigned to the Rookie-level Florida Complex League Phillies, where he slashed .255/.406/.468 in 64 plate appearances.[80] Viars missed the beginning of the 2022 season due to an ankle injury.[81] He was sent to the FCL Phillies on a rehab assignment in June before joining the Clearwater Threshers of the Single-A Florida State League.[82]
