Olkhovsky District (Russian: Ольхо́вский райо́н) is an administrative [district (raion), one of the thirty-three in Volgograd Oblast, Russia.[1] Municipally, it is incorporated as Olkhovsky Municipal District.[6] It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,300 square kilometers (1,300 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Olkhovka.[2] Population: 17,626 (2010 Russian census);[4] 19,178 (2002 Census);[8] 18,356 (1989 Soviet census).[9] The population of Olkhovka accounts for 30.6% of the district's total population.[4]
