History

The first Louder Than Life was a two-day festival hosted at Champions Park in 2014.[5]

The 2015 festival also featured live matches between wrestlers from WWE NXT.[6]

In 2018 the festival was cancelled due to continuing rain and deteriorating conditions at Champions Park.[7]

The festival was expanded to three days in 2019 and moved to Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center to prevent flooding.[8]

The 2020 festival was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[9]

In 2021 the festival was expanded to four days.[10]

2024 will celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the festival with a record 140+ bands, including the reuniting of Slayer after a five-year retirement.[11]
