1633 Hubert Le Sueur The earliest English equestrian statue. Originally commissioned in 1630 by Charles I's Lord Treasurer , Sir Richard Weston , for his house Mortlake Park in Roehampton . Erected on the site of the Charing Cross in 1674–5, when the pedestal was carved by Joshua Marshall.
