List of Billboard Hot 100 number ones of 2024

The Billboard Hot 100 is a chart that ranks the best-performing songs in the United States. Its data is compiled by Luminate Data and published by American music magazine Billboard. The chart is based on each song's weekly physical and digital sales collectively, the amount of airplay impressions it receives on American radio stations, and its audio and video streams on online digital music platforms.

Post Malone topped the chart for eight weeks—the most for any artist in 2024—with the Taylor Swift collaboration "Fortnight", and "I Had Some Help" featuring Morgan Wallen, the latter of which spent the most weeks at number one in 2024, with six.

"I Had Some Help" by Post Malone featuring Morgan Wallen achieved the highest weekly sales and streams for a song in 2024.[1] American singer Beyoncé became the first Black woman to top the chart with a country song, aided by "Texas Hold 'Em".[2] American rapper Kanye West became the first-ever rapper to top the chart in three different decades (2000s, 2010s, 2020s), aided by the collaboration "Carnival" with Ty Dolla Sign, Rich the Kid and Playboi Carti.[3] Irish musician Hozier became the first Irish act since Sinéad O'Connor in 1990 to top the chart, with his 2024 single "Too Sweet".[4]

As of the chart dated July 13, twenty artists have charted at number one in 2024, with eight―¥$, Rich the Kid, Playboi Carti, Teddy Swims, Metro Boomin, Hozier, Sabrina Carpenter and Shaboozey―reaching the top spot for the first time. Ariana Grande, Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone are the only artists to have charted two number-one songs in 2024 so far. Post Malone has spent eight weeks at the top of the chart, currently marking the most number of weeks at number one for any artist during the year.

Chart history

Bolstered by his feud with Drake, Kendrick Lamar garnered two number-one singles with the diss tracks "Like That" and "Not Like Us", which topped the chart for four weeks in total.
Ariana Grande's "Yes, And?" and "We Can't Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)" spent one week atop the chart each.
