John Beasley (American football)

John Walter Beasley (born April 6, 1945) is an American former professional football player who was a tight end in the National Football League (NFL). Standing 6'3", 228 lb (103 kg), he played college football for the California Golden Bears. Beasley was selected by the Minnesota Vikings in the 1967 NFL Draft.[1]

Following his playing career, Beasley worked as a color commentator for the USA Network and called, along with Barry Tompkins, The Play in 1982, when California scored on the last play of the game to defeat Stanford 25-20.
