Reception

A critic from Bangalore Mirror wrote that "If you catch this film on TV, you will be forgiven for deciding that Janani is from a remote part of the 20th Century".[7] V. S. Rajapur of Nowrunning wrote that "Janani is a forgettable film not even worth a one-time watch. A real tragedy because it has some very good names associated with it".[8]
