Udejeen

Udejeen (Somali: Ujeejeen, Arabic: اجيجين) is a sub-clan of the Hawiye and a larger Samaale clan.[1] It is one of the major Somali clans and has produced many prominent historical Somali figures including the first president of Somalia and various mayors in Somalia.[2][3]

Distribution

The Udejeen primarily live in the region of Hiraan in Somalia,[4] where they live in the districts of Jawiil, Matabaan and Beledweyne. They also extend over the border into Mustahil and Ferfer. They also live in the Middle Shabelle region of Somalia.
