De De Pyaar De 2 (transl. Give me love 2) is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film directed by Anshul Sharma and produced by T-Series Films and Luv Films.[1] It is a sequel to the 2019 film De De Pyaar De.[2] The film stars Ajay Devgn, and Rakul Preet Singh who reprise their roles alongside R. Madhavan.[3] The film was announced on 13 March 2024 by Luv Ranjan on social media and is scheduled to release on 1 May 2025.[4]

Plot
The plot takes off from where the previous film left off. As Ashish Mehra, the 50-year-old NRI investor in London who falls in love with 26-year-old independent girl Ayesha, and develops a serious relationship of living together. Ashish then decides to meet Ayesha's family to get their approval, after having previously received his own family's approval (in De De Pyaar De). What follows is a case of hilarious one-upmanship between Ashish and Ayesha's father.[5]

Production
Development and casting
In March 2024, Luv Ranjan confirmed the sequel with Ajay Devgn in the lead role. The film is being directed by Anshul Sharma, replacing Akiv Ali and is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar of T-Series, and Ranjan, Ankur Garg of Luv Films. Devgn reprises his role as Ashish Mehra alongside Rakul Preet Singh as Ayesha.[7] R. Madhavan plays Rakul Preet's father;[5] a role for which Anil Kapoor was previously cast but he later opted out.[8]
Principal photography
Principal photography commenced in June 2024. The film's first schedule is being shot in Mumbai and the first shot was filmed at Mehboob Studio, Mumbai, Maharashtra. [9] [10] where two huge film sets have been erected. The films' next schedules are set to happen in Punjab and London. [11]
Release
De De Pyaar De 2 is as of now scheduled to be released on 1 May 2025 coinciding with the long weekend of International Labour Day and Maharashtra Day.[7]
