Chen Zheyuan

Chen Zheyuan was born on October 29, 1996, in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province. He graduated from the Department of Performance at Shenzhen University.^[2][3]

In 2015, Chen participated in the variety program King of Pop, and subsequently debuted in the entertainment industry as part of the boy group Mr. Bio.^{[4] [5]}

In 2017, Chen made his acting debut in the youth drama All About Secrets, based on the novel by Rao Xueman.^[6] In 2018, He starred in the fantasy wuxia drama The Legend of Zu 2 and costume comedy drama Hello Dear Ancestors.^[7] He made his big screen debut in the comedy film Miss Puff the same year.^{[8] [9] [10][11]}

Chen became known to audiences after starring in wuxia drama Handsome Siblings, based on the novel Juedai Shuangjiao by Gu Long.^[12] He was praised for his portrayal of the protagonist, Xiao Yu'er.^[13] literally meaning, "Little Fish". He also starred in costume drama Renascence and mystery crime drama Detective Chinatown the same year. Chen was also cast in historical dramas The Golden Hairpin alongside Yang Zi, and Winner Is King based on the novel Sha Po Lang by Priest alongside Tan Jianci. He is set to play supporting role Yu Xuan, and male lead Chang Geng respectively.^[14] In 2021, Chen starred as male protagonist Zhou Siyue in Mango TV's youth campus drama Our Secret, alongside Xu Mengjie. ^[15][16] He also starred in the 2022 romantic fantasy series Mr. Bad, alongside Shen Yue, both of which brought him further recognition.^[17][18]

Chen was launched into international stardom in 2023 after he starred in the popular series adaptation of the novel, Hidden Love/ Secretly Unable to Hide, by Zhu Yi opposite Zhao Lusi. The drama was aired by Netflix in 190 countries. His striking visuals and brilliant performance as Duan Jiaxu received unanimous praise.

In 2024, iQIYI exclusively released Sword and Fairy 4 (仙剑四, Tencent 祈今朝 ) on their video streaming platform. Chen played the role of protagonist Yun Tuanhe (alongside Ju Jingyi). The series is based on the hit videogame franchise. It garnered 500 million views in the first 15 days of web-telecast. His next dramas, Dark Night and Dawn (with Nie Yuan) and The White Olive Tree (with Liang Jie) are also scheduled to be broadcast in 2024. Chen is also set to star opposite Li Qin in new costume drama, Fated Hearts. Filming began on July 6, 2024, in Hengdian Studios.^{[citation needed]}
