Alessia Zarbo

Alessia Zarbo (born 11 September 2001) is a French long distance and cross country runner. In 2020, she became French national champion over 10,000 metres.[1]

Career

Zarbo was a gold medallist in the 3,000 metres at the 2017 European Youth Olympic Festival in Győr, Hungary.[2] She was a bronze medallist in the same distance at the 2018 European Athletics U18 Championships in the same city with a personal best 9:25.25.[3] She finished eighth in the 3000 metres at the 2018 Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires.[4]

Zarbo became French national champion in the 5000 metres at the 2020 French Athletics Championships in Albi.[5] She ran a personal best time for the 10,000 metres in May 2022 in Eugene, Oregon, United States, running a time of 32:28.57.[6] She competed at the 2022 European Athletics Championships in the 10,000 metres in August 2022.[7]

In April 2024, she qualified for the 10,000m event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, by finishing in 6th place in the world cross-country rankings.[8]

Personal life

From Antibes, she trains in Nice, France.[9] Her brother Raffael Zarbo is a cyclist.[10] She attended the University of Oregon.[11]
