Harry Dean Stanton

Stanton nació en West Irvine, Kentucky, fíu d'Ersel Moberly, una peluquera, y Sheridan Harry Stanton, un llabrador del tabacu y barberu.^[5][6] Los sos padres divorciáronse cuando Harry taba na secundaria, depués volvieron a casase. Tien dos hermanos menores, Archie y Ralph, y un mediohermanu menor, Stan. Asistió a la Universidá de Kentucky en Lexington, Kentucky, onde estudió periodismu y artes. Ellí empezó a facer teatru participando na obra Pygmalion. Tamién estudió nel históricu teatru Pasadena Playhouse de Pasadena, California, onde foi compañeru de Tyler MacDuff y Dana Andrews.

Stanton ye veteranu de l'Armada de los Estaos Xuníos. Trabayó como cocineru nuna nave tipu Landing Ship Tank (LST) na Batalla d'Okinawa na Segunda Guerra Mundial.

Foi actor favoritu de direutores como Sam Peckinpah, John Milius, David Lynch y Monte Hellman, y amás ye amigu cercanu de Francis Ford Coppola. Tuvo un pequeñu papel en How the West Was Won (1962), interpretando a un integrante de la banda de Charlie Gant (Eli Wallach).
